Shofar Factory
Classroom Setup
Shofar Factory Presentation Segment
- Presentation/Orientation lasts 50-60 minutes.
- Optimally, 60-70 children per presentation is advised.
- Please have a nearby parking space available for our vehicle (with a pass if needed) so that everything can be unloaded quickly and crew can start performance without delay.
- The Presentation/Display area, should be indoors
- If program must be held outdoors, overhead cover, (tent or canopy,) is a must.
- Since ‘helpers’ will be called up to bring the show-and-tell items up close, a stage is not advised.
- Program area should be at least 20' x 30', with good lighting, on a bare floor, (no carpet is better).
- Chairs are not necessary. Younger children can sit on the floor in a semicircle around the display area – set up chairs on the periphery for adults.
- Tables: One 6 foot or 8 foot rectangular table is needed for presentation/display area.
- If the students will work on individual DIY shofars later, an additional 4-8 long tables are also needed..
- Access to water.
- If there will be more than one presentation please send us a schedule two weeks before the program.
DIY Shofar Making segment (OPTIONAL)
- Individual DIY shofar making segment takes place AFTER the Presentation and can accommodate about 30 students at a time at a rate of about 30 shofars per half hour.
- Participants for the DIY Shofar segment need to be at least 10 years old.
- Teachers/Parents should be prepared to assist children who are finding this activity a challenge.
- Most of the work in the hands-on DIY Shofar making session is done while standing, so no chairs are needed.
- Additional 4-8 long tables are necessary for your students to work on their own shofars, (depending on the number of shofar makers).
- Two separate working electrical 120V outlets (rated for 20 amps) from separate circuits are necessary. A staff member should be aware of where the fuse box is.
